College Visits

College selection is one of the most crucial decisions you have to make when you're applying to college. The best way to evaluate a college and decide whether it's right for you is to visit in person. At CAP we will take advantage of our host site and several nearby colleges and universities in order to help you better understand how to maximize the impact of each of your college visits. We will teach you to see beyond admissions marketing materials. You'll learn how to ask questions so that you will get meaningful answers and how to recognize an answer that might need more clarification. Most visits will include both a guided tour and a formal admissions presentation.

College visits during each ASA CAP program are intended to introduce our students to several different types of institutions in order that they might begin to get a feel for a place or an environment that feels "right" to them. We strongly recommend that students follow up with a short list of colleges and universities that interest them after the CAP program and plan a visit while classes are in session.

While there may be time to visit more colleges in each area, the following visits are guaranteed:

>COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

Princeton University, Villanova University, New York University and Columbia University

>TUFTS UNIVERSITY

Harvard University, Boston University, Emerson College and Tufts University

>UC BERKELEY

Stanford University, UC Santa Cruz, University of San Francisco and UC Berkeley
