Your Summer Community
Roommates

Living areas are single sex and every Resident Group (approximately 10 students) will have one Resident Advisor (RA) who will act as a mentor and information resource. Roommates, Suitemates and Resident Groups are carefully selected using responses from our housing questionnaire. An invaluable part of ASA Berkeley is the opportunity to form friendships with students from variety of backgrounds, countries and customs. Most students at Berkeley come without friends, so ASA staff and students work closely with one another to build a community that is supportive and educational. We understand that living in a new environment can be challenging and we want to make sure that we do everything we can to make it a fun and rewarding learning experience.

Our Student Body

The ASA student body at Berkeley is a rich community of students with varied interests, backgrounds, and perspectives. Typically students from over 30 countries and over 30 US states are in attendance. Most recently, students have come from such diverse places as Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, South Korea, Jamaica, Germany, Pakistan, Turkey, Taiwan, Italy, Spain, Japan, Canada, and France. Most of our students come to ASA at Berkeley without knowing anyone. The friendships developed at ASA are often life-long and as most students tell us, the best part of their summer experience.
