Experience a new level of language and cultural immersion by living with a Spanish family in the magnificent city of Cádiz. The Cádiz program is designed for students who seek to improve their Spanish and learn about Spanish history and culture first hand. Homestay living is combined with Spanish classes and an exciting variety of cultural and recreational activities, excursions and travel.
Cádiz is the oldest inhabited city in Europe and is located on the beautiful Atlantic coast of Andalusia, Spain's southernmost region. The city forms a natural island and you are constantly surrounded by breathtaking beaches and water. Even as the largest of ASA's Spanish homestay locations, Cádiz maintains a small town feel as you explore its labyrinth of narrow streets filled with markets, lively squares, restaurants, cafes, charming homes and gardens. Cádiz is a dynamic blend of old and new. The architecture of the old town creates an atmosphere of timeless elegance and you will be charmed by its strong sense of history and amazed by the energy of a bustling city whose shops, markets, cafes, and nightlife come alive in the summer.
For over 20 years, carefully chosen Cádiz families have opened their homes and welcomed ASA students and are eager to continue the tradition. Your homestay family will stretch your abilities, exchanges with new friends will boost your confidence, and formal classroom instruction will strengthen your Spanish language skills. You will be treated as a special guest take your Spanish to another level and develop a deep understanding of Spain and broaden your perspective of the world at large.
