ASA in Cambridge Leadership

At ASA we are particularly proud of our extraordinary program directors, staff and faculty. We believe that strong, nurturing and experienced leadership sets the tone for a successful program. The program is run by a senior staff, comprising a Director assisted by an Activities Director and Residence Life Director, as well as a team of RAs (residential advisors) all of whom live in residence with the students. Our senior staff members often return year after year and both they and the RAs go through a rigorous selection process and pre-program orientation.

Senior Staff

The Senior Staff is comprised of the Director, Activities Director, and Residence Life Director. Their utmost priority is to make sure students’ needs are being met with regard to safety, security, and general well-being. They reside in-college so that this can be done 24 hours a day.

Resident Advisors (RAs)

RAs are an essential part of your experience and are hired solely to support and act as role models to ASA students. They live on each floor, with one RA for every ten students. Your RA will always be available to organize activities, show you around Cambridge, answer your questions and make sure you get the most out of your summer.

The leadership team and program structure emphasize personal growth, intellectual stimulation, and cultural enrichment through personal attention, high quality academics, and exciting cultural and recreational activities so that students learn experientially by doing. Students learn, make friends and have fun through the support and guidance of the dedicated and caring staff. Although students are often encouraged to explore independently, we maintain a minimum ratio of 1 staff member for every 10 students. The safety, security, and overall well-being of our students is our utmost priority.
