ASA in Florence is a residential program focusing on the arts and the humanities for students completing grades 10-12. The program is a unique opportunity to live, study and explore in the spectacular city that gave birth to the Renaissance. Experience Italian language and culture first hand, take courses by a talented team of local experts and enjoy a wide range of activities and excursions. Students and staff are housed in two beautiful villas, the 16th century Convitto della Calza and the 18th century Villa Betania. Both are located in the up-scale, elegant Oltrarno district in the heart of Florence just steps away from the Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio.

Florence is synonymous with high culture and sophistication and is the birthplace of Dante and Machiavelli, the city of the Medicis, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. Florence houses nearly one fifth of the world's art treasures and abounds in architectural beauty, sculpture, painting, major museums, palaces and innumerable churches. Florence also bustles as a modern European city and you can take advantage of the many cafes, restaurants, trattorias and gelaterias in a city where it's possible to walk everywhere.

ASA in Florence is a privileged opportunity to fulfill your interests in art, art history, fashion, architecture, visual arts, Italian language. The program combines the benefits of a pre-college curriculum with real-life cultural immersion and daily exposure to urban Florentine life. The program in Florence offers you an authentic cultural experience amidst the beauty of the old and the energy of the new. Our goal is to make Florence fully accessible to you, ensuring the experience is an inspiration not only for the summer, but for many years to come.
