Experience that counts
At ASA we are particularly proud of our 27 years of experience and our extraordinary program directors, staff and faculty. We believe that strong, nurturing and experienced leadership sets the tone for a successful program. Our senior staff members often return year after year and both they and the Resident Advisors go through a rigorous selection process and pre-program orientation.
Senior Staff
The Senior Staff is comprised of 2 Co-Directors, a Dean of Students, an Academic Director, an Activities Director, and a Student Services Coordinator. Our Co-Director, Paul Saville, has led the Oxford Experience program for over 20 years. He is an Oxford professor and artist and resides in the city year-round. The second Co-Director, Sarah Gudis, has been with ASA for 7 years and works at ASA's main office in NYC during the remainder of the year. She holds a MS in Education from Pace University, a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania and is a Teach For America alumna. She is also an ASA alumna from our program at UMass-Amherst!
Our staff's utmost priority is to make sure your needs are being met with regard to safety, security, and general well-being. They reside in-college so that this can be done 24-hours a day.
Resident Advisors (RAs)
RAs are an essential part of the ASA experience and are hired solely to support and act as role models to our students. RAs are college upperclassmen or recent graduates with experience in residential life. They live on each floor, with one RA for every ten students. RAs will always be available to organize activities, provide tours around Oxford, answer questions and make sure our students get the most out of their summer.
Safety & Supervision
The safety, security, and overall well-being of our students is our utmost priority.
- 1 to 8 student to residential staff ratio
- 24 hour security with a team of porters on staff at Lady Margaret Hall
- Electronic key pass required for entry into residence hall buildings
