Summerfuel
Princeton University
When classes finish, it's time to play. ASA staff will organize interesting and active extracurricular options any time classes are not in session. Each Monday night, when RA groups meet, students will learn the full schedule of that week's activities and trips.
What better use of a summer weekend than a road trip? We take full advantage of the ideal location of Princeton - mid-way between New York and Philadelphia - to visit both exciting cities, as well as the Jersey Shore and the requisite visit to roller coaster heaven - Six Flags Great Adventure. All trips (except those noted as optional) are included in your program fees.
Included Trips:
New York
There's so much to do in this magnificent city that we'll have to move in different directions based on interest. Key visit highlights will include: Columbia University, Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square, Greenwich Village and New York University
Philadelphia
See the Liberty Bell as well as Independence Hall, where both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were written, and the interactive exhibits of the National Constitution Center. See the fascinating Franklin Institute Science Museum (complete with a walk-through model of a human heart), the Rodin Museum (housing more of the artist's works than anywhere else outside France), the expansive Philadelphia Museum of Art, or the excellent Philadelphia Zoo. Also time to explore and shop along diverse, fun, and funky South Street.
Beach Trip
A short trip from campus is the soft sand of the Jersey Shore. Beautiful beaches, great swimming and body-surfing and some of the best 'boardwalk food' ever.
Six Flags Great Adventure/Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
With some of the most intensive roller coasters anywhere, this park is sure to thrill.
Trenton Thunder Baseball
Central Jersey's own minor-league baseball team, affiliate of the New York Yankees and 2007 Eastern League Champions.
