The ASA program at UMass is a fantastic opportunity to sample college life at one of the nation's premier academic institutions in one of the most charming college towns in the U.S. Set in the beautiful Pioneer Valley, Amherst is a fun, funky little town with coffee shops, unique eateries, great bookstores and music spots that you won't find any where else. It's also just 90 miles from Boston, which means it offers a great combination of relaxed summer setting and exciting urban options.
The ASA program at UMass is designed to provide students with an engaging and exciting academic experience, a rich social experience and the wonderful camaraderie of a summer program with a student body that is diverse in both their interests and their cultures. ASA classes are focused and interesting, adding hands-on, active opportunities wherever possible. They're also of great quality, taught by experienced professors. After all, if you're going to take a class this summer, why not make it a meaningful one? In addition to coursework, the ASA UMass program offers fantastic opportunities to form friendships with interesting new people. The staff are engaged and involved and play a pivotal role in helping students adjust and enjoy their ASA experience. Weekend trips are also key, with days spent at the beach or in Boston or at Six Flags, summer could hardly be more interesting.
